Celebrity Equinox

I’ve been researching Mediterranean cruises for our honeymoon and landed on an itinerary that looks incredible.  On top of that, the ship is a new one, just debuting this past July 31st.  I toured the sister ship of the Equinox, the Solstice, this past April in Ft. Lauderdale at the Cruise3sixty Conference.  It was by far my favorite ship I toured!  This class of Celebrity ships have some really cool features.  85% of the staterooms have verandas!  Many dining options – 10 restaurants from Asian Fusion to French.  The top deck has the “Lawn Club” that features real grass for golf or croquet or to just run your toes through.   The first ever glass blowing studios at sea were introduced on the Solstice and Equinox.  Celebrity Tasting will partner with mixologists from Liquid Chefs featuring drinks with unusual ingredients.    I haven’t even mentioned the Spa, wow.  Touring the Solstice was a great teaser, one that left me wanting to experience the real thing for days at a time!  Looks like I may have a chance with our honeymoon next year, we’ll see!

Reasons I love to cruise….

1.  I only have to unpack once!  I get to visit several places without ever having to pack it all up to move on.  It’s a great way to see many places.

2.  The all-inclusive price.  I pretty much know how much my trip will cost me prior to going.  The only things to budget for in addition are beverages, shopping and shore excursions!  Of course, time in the spa is additional as well.

3.  Cruising is definitely romantic.  Sitting on the balcony with your loved one having a glass of wine or a pina colada is amazing!  The secluded beaches and spa services are just part of the romance….

4.  You will never go hungry!  There are so many dining options, lots of fun places to eat, most are included in the price of the cruise.

5.  There is a huge selection of places to visit!  There are over 1800 ports of call and over 150 ships to choose from, there is a cruise for everyone!!

6.  The entertainment is awesome, a lot of fabulous performers on board to make a great show every evening.  Did I mention this is included in the cost of the cruise? 🙂

7. Tons of activities, I am never board!  From sightseeing to sports, educational tours, gaming, dance lessons, cooking classes and lounging by the pool are just some of the activities to occupy your time.  Do as little or as much as you want!

Cruising has something for everyone.  It is a vacation of a lifetime and available to everyone.  See the world and completely unwind, an adventure like no other.

New Dining Options for the Carnival Dream

The Carnival Dream debuts on September 21, 2009 and will be Carnival’s most innovative ship yet.

The Gathering sounds interesting and fun.  It features different ethnic cuisine including a Mongolian Wok, a burrio bar, a large salad bar, pasta bar and Indian dishes from the tandoori oven.  This restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has no additional charge.

For all of you who love sushi, Wasabi will serve complimentary sushi on the promenade deck.

Chef’s Art Steakhouse has a surcharge of $30 per person and recommends reservations.  The specialty here is dry-aged beef, sounds great to me!

The Carnival Dream has some other new features that have been recently announced including onboard social networking.  Also just introduced is a behind the scene ship tour.  Called “Behind the Fun”  a three-and-a-half-hour tour is a behind-the-scenes look at the line’s shipboard operations. Participants pay $95 to get access to ship areas that are normally off limits to passengers, such as the laundry room, galley, crew’s dining room, crew’s gym and training center according to an article from Travel Weekly.  Princess has also implemented this program last year called The Ultimate Ship Tour.  Wonder what really happens below deck 🙂

Oasis of the Seas!

Oasis of the Seas, the first of the two 220,000-ton, 5,400-passenger behemoths in the new Oasis-class of vessels, is set to debut on December 5, 2009.  The sister ship, Allure of the Seas, will debut summer 2010.  We have never seen so much excitement about the introduction of these new ships!

Royal Caribbean has been hosting huge press events and releasing a lot of information about what passengers will find onboard. We are AMAZED at the features that these new ships will have including onboard zip-lining and a water-based outdoor theater.

The layout itself is unique. The ship will be divided into seven neighborhoods, each with its own distinct theme. The Youth Zone, the Boardwalk (reminding us of Coney Island), the Royal Promenade (shopping),  Entertainment Place (nighttime activities), Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, Pool and Sports Zone, and Central Park (indoor/outdoor space with real grass and trees).

There are more than 20 dining options, 12 of which have additional fees to take advantage of them.

I would be happy to help you book a cruise on Oasis of the Seas!  Call me soon though because the rooms are filling up for weeks at a time because this ship is so popular!
